![]() Victoria Hallerman and her husband Dean Thompson are long-time St. George, Staten Island residents. Victoria is a writer and health
activist. Her previous book, How We Survived Prostate Cancer: What We Did and What We Should Have Done (a William Morrow Paperback), is a moving memoir and a supportive guidebook.
How We Survived Prostate Cancer addresses everything from redefining intimacy to a wife’s anger and loneliness in the face of her husband’s illness, and is filled with useful information and advice to help others on the same path. Victoria's poetry has been anthologized in The Pushcart Prize, and is featured in the permanent archive of The Academy of American Poets. She has published extensively in literary magazines (a regular contributor to Poetry), and her book of poems, The Aerialist, won the Bright Hill Prize.
